Topic: New Testament Scripture: 2 Corinthians 8:1–5
Application Questions
- Although the context of 2 Corinthians 8 and 9 relate to the churches of Macedonia as they have collected an offering for the poor in Jerusalem, list several principles of giving that we may learn from them as revealed in these two chapters.
- Why does Paul mention the grace of God in connection to giving?
- Why should our giving be considered an act of worship?
- The Macedonians first gave themselves to the Lord. Why is this important when it comes to using our treasure for the work of the Lord?
- Is generosity to the church determined by a large dollar amount?
- If we are obedient to the Lord's command to give as an act of worship what assurances do we have that our own financial needs will be met.
- Remind yourselves to be a cheerful giver!
