The ultimate fulfillment of our purpose as a church is to make known the glory of God to all the people groups of the world. At
Green Run, this "great commission" has a special place in the hearts of the leaders and the people. Missions is at the very
core of who we are.
We seek to fulfill this desire in three specific ways:
- To grow and challenge our people to become "world Christians"
through their understanding of Scripture and their exposure to other cultures.
- The generous and joyful giving of our resources to local and foreign missionary efforts.
- By raising up, sending out, and supporting missionaries from this church body to unreached peoples.
Current missionary efforts we are partner with and support
All-India Prayer Fellowship
GRBC is the North American headquarters for AIPF. It is a missionary organization in India founded by Dr. P.N. Kurien in
1966. His son, Dr. Koshy Kurien now oversees the daily affairs of the ministry. We have been partnering with these men in
their vision of reaching all of India with the gospel of Jesus Christ for many years. We provide financial support, oversee
some general administrative responsibilities and make annual trips to their campus in New Dehli to teach and train men and
women from the surrounding regions to go out and help gather in God's sheep. God has allowed us to help their ministry
complete the AIPF Bible College and Seminary campus, a church located on the campus called the Green Run Church of India and
the AIPF mission hospital also located on the campus. Under the ministry of AIPF over 4 million people in India have professed
Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Luther Rice Seminary
GRBC formed a partnership with Luther Rice Seminary in 2001 to help train men studying to plant churches and evangelize in the
country of Jamaica. We send several of our members to Jamaica annually to help them in their efforts through teaching,
conducting Vacation Bible Schools, one-on-one ministry and specialized labor.
Jamaica Evangelical Ministry School
J.E.M.S. is a school of Bible and Theology for the purpose of training believers of Jamaica in the interpretation and
application of the English Bible, as well as Practical and Systematic Theology. This school started as a dream of a few pastors
from the United States and Dean Dawson, the director of Bethel Mission in Jamaica, during a trip there in February 2005. This
dream is now a reality as J.E.M.S. offers Bible training for both pastors and lay people throughout the year.
Southern Baptist Convention
The SBC sponsors over 5000 missionaries in North America and another 5000 foreign missionaries in 153 nations. The primary
reason for our affiliation with the SBC is partnership in missions. Through the cooperative efforts of thousands of churches,
we are able to accomplish mission work that our church could not accomplish alone. Membership in the SBC is completely
voluntary and they exert no control over any participating church.
New Tribes Mission
Motivated by the love of Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, NTM exists to assist the ministry of the local church
through the mobilizing, equipping, and coordinating of missionaries to evangelize unreached people groups, translate the
Scriptures, and see indigenous New Testament churches established that truly glorify God.
